Made in the HEARTLAND
of America, by FELLOW AMERICANS!
Rugged
Construction
CAPACITY
24000 LB GVW (under normal towing conditions)
Suggested Tongue Weight Maximum of 5000 LB
If you own a Gooseneck Trailer and/or a 5th
Wheel Travel Trailer then you should pay close attention to this product. It is
simply an adapter, one end of which attaches to the "king pin" on your 5th Wheel
Travel Trailer, and the other end accepts the standard size 2 5/16" Gooseneck Ball.
Attachment to the "King Pin" is done by the use of two horse-shoe clamps.
Set screws are also used. There is NO pivot action at this point. All
the pivot action is down on the Gooseneck ball. Also NO welding
and/or cutting is required. 15 or 20 minutes is the estimated time required for
installation on your "King Pin". Complete instructions are provided.
Measurement from top of Gooseneck Ball to the
top of the Cody Coupler is either 11 1/4" or 12 1/4", depending on which of the
two adjustments are used. See diagram below!
A word of caution is in order about the use of
the Cody Coupler! Because of its design, additional pressure may be placed on the
"King Pin" of the trailer it is mounted on. This is a result of the
leveraging action involved. Because of this, we feel it is wise to mention several
steps that should be taken by the owner of such a rig. These are "common
sense" suggestions that could and should apply to any type of trailer
hook-up.
REGULARLY INSPECT THE INSTALLATION OF
THE COUPLER
Make certain the "King Pin" is securely attached to the Pin Box.
Occasionally, additional reinforcement might be advisable.
AVOID THE "POP-A-WHEELY
SYNDROME"
Smooth, even starts and stops are always better than the jerky motion.
TRAILER BRAKES SHOULD ALWAYS BE IN
GOOD WORKING ORDER!
And properly hooked up.

The measurements
given above are important, especially if the tow vehicle is the
newly redesigned Ford F150, introduced in 2004. That vehicle now has a
bed that is 2" deeper than what has always been considered as the
industry "norm". Remember our policy of NO Return!

AN
IMPORTANT SAFETY LATCH IS BUILT INTO THE PORTION OF THE CODY COUPLER THAT
RECEIVES THE GOOSENECK BALL OF THE TOW VEHICLE. THIS LATCH PREVENTS
ANY POSSIBILITY OF DISCONNECTING FROM THE GOOSENECK BALL. IT
AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES WHEN HITCHING UP, BUT MUST BE MANUALLY DISENGAGED
WHEN UNHOOKING. DISENGAGEMENT IS ACCOMPLISHED BY SIMPLY DEPRESSING A
CONVENIENTLY LOCATED SPRINGLOADED ARM AS YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF
UNHOOKING YOUR TRAILER.
A very special THANK YOU to
ALL PRCA MEMBERS for your
continued support of ALL Cody Hitch products!
